Passing the Peace

Opening Words: (responsive)
One: This is the middle of Labour Day weekend and we have gathered here, apart from barbecues,              sunburns and visits with family and friends.
All:  We have gathered here to express our gratefulness and appreciation for the beauty of all Creation human and all nature.
One: We have gathered here to remember our story within   the community of God.
All:  May we be open to the gifts of Creation and the call
of the Creator as we worship this morning.

*Hymn: Walk with Me #649 (V.U.)

Prayer for Grace: (in unison)

Creating One, open our hearts to see the things our eyes overlook, to feel the things our hands can't touch, to hear that still, small voice which sounds like silence to our ears. Teach our hearts to know your Presence, within and amongst us, which is love, softly spoken, flowing like a fountain and challenging like a mighty stream.

STEWARDSHIP SECOND

There are an infinite number of ways to express our joy and show our gratitude for God's gifts.

PSALM 26

Prayer of the Blamelesss
Yahweh, be my judge!
I go on my way in innocence,
my trust in Yahweh never wavers.

Probe me, Yahweh, examine me,
Test my heart and my mind in the fire,
For your faithful love is before my eyes,
and I live my life by your truth.

No sitting with wastrels for me,
no associating with hypocrites;
I hate the company of sinners,
I refuse to sit down with the wicked.

I will wash my hands in innocence
and join the procession round your altar,
to make heard the sound of thanksgiving,
to proclaim all your wonders.
Yahweh, I love the beauty of your house
and the place where your glory dwells.

Do not couple me with sinners,
nor my life with men of violence,
whose hands are stained with guilt,
their right hands heavy with bribes.

In innocence I will go on my way;
ransom me, take pity on me.
I take my stand on the right path;
I will bless you, Yahweh, in the assemblies.
